Abstract:
Despite the facts and information about the continuous decrease in energy potentials year after year, the power utility still represents the foundation of economic growth and development in every country. Accordingly, development of electric power industry is the foundation of modern ways of living, as well as the key factor for economic changes. Development of the energy sector makes technological development, economic growth of the company as an institution, increase of the investments and stronger competitiveness possible. The energy industry is one of the most intense branches of the economy when it comes to the investments, and the power utility is the same within the energy industry.
This paper will give a brief outline of the current state of the Power Utility of the Republic of Srpska (orig.: Elektroprivreda Republike Srpske – ERS), as well as some future forecast for making the competitiveness in the open market stronger.
